Grund zur Freude: der grosse Gott macht sich ganz klein: Er weiss, wie sich Menschsein anfühlt – ein Flüchtlingsbaby, Jesus, in einer Futterkrippe, weil kein Platz im Gasthaus ist.

Wo Plätzchen, Christbaumschmuck und teure Geschenke auch kaum zu finden sind,  werde ich die nächsten Wochen chirurgisch arbeiten: in unserer German-Doctors-Ambulanz im Mathare Valley Slum in Nairobi. Mehr Infos unter http://www.german-doctors.de

Joy to the world: the almighty god comes to us as a baby, born to refugee parents in a stable – there was no room in a better place. He knows what life in this world feels like.

Nairobi…

….wird in den nächsten Tagen wieder mein Ziel sein – jetzt im vierten Jahr, um dort mit German Doctors in unserer Ambulanz mitten im Mathare Valley Slum für 6 Wochen chirurgisch zu arbeiten. Trotz der noch nicht ganz geklärten Turbulenzen und Unruhen um die jetzt zum zweiten Mal durchgeführte Präsidentschafts-Wahl hat das Baraka Health Center geöffnet und das ist gut – so werden die sowieso oft extremen Befunde nicht über Tage und Wochen verschleppt. Wenn das Internet funktioniert, werde ich hier berichten, zudem sind die Berichte der letzten Jahre unter den Stichworten Nairobi, German Doctors, African Ladies etc. zu finden.

…will be my destination again in the next days to join the Baraka Health Center Team and do surgical work there in the middle of Mathare Valley Slum with German Doctors for 6 weeks. It is my fourth year of going  there and this time it doesn’t feel as peaceful as it did in previous  times because of the troubles concerning the now second presidential election in four months. But – our clinic is open and busy, and we are glad about this: so our patients have a chance to get their severe health problems treated at least almost in time.
